Freelance Veterinary Consultant (Charlotte, NC)

At betterpet.com, we help people make smarter, healthier decisions for their pets. Our mission is to provide clear, medically sound advice distinguished by a focus on responsible pet parenting.

We are currently seeking U.S. licensed veterinarians, certified veterinary technicians, and active pre-vet students to help us craft the most practical, relevant, and scientifically backed content — articles, features, guides, etc. — for over 4 million readers.

• Proofreading content; collaborating with our team of writers and editors to raise the bar.
• Consulting our creative team to make sure that we share information and product recommendations that are in the best interest of both pets and their owners.
• Work with our team to field questions from journalists and members of the media about pet health trends, proper care, etc. (This is a great opportunity to grow your network.)
• Visiting our team once a month to conduct in-person product reviews for our lists of favorite products. Before meeting at our office for filming, we’ll ship the products to you so you can review them in advance.

• You care deeply about replacing inaccurate, advertisement-littered information on the internet with real veterinary perspective and actual science.
• You’re passionate about bridging the gap between veterinary practice and modern media.
• You’re comfortable with being on camera for product reviews and visiting our Charlotte, NC office once a month.
• Comfortable with varying time commitments based on the availability of content.
• You’re open to learning Google Docs, Asana, and Slack (we will train you).
